NC-Cong regime polarised JK', Sadhotra, NC must introspect | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 12: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Ajay Sadhotra has alleged that PDP-BJP coalition is trying to engineer communal divide and disturb peace in the State. On the contrary, the state was polarised to the hilt during National Conference-Congress regime. If BJP emerged as a major force in the state especially in the Jammu region, it means the previous regime (NC-Cong) committed wrongs that forced the people to seek alternatives. And if the alternative came in the form of BJP, it is neither the fault of the people nor the fault of the BJP. Similarly the people opted for PDP in the Valley. From 16 seats in 2002, the PDP got 28 seats. This also indicates that the people in Kashmir Valley which traditionally has been a strong NC bastion, were looking for an alternative. Whether one likes it or not, the people displayed their communal mindset openly during the 2014 elections both in Jammu as well as in Kashmir. And, the NC has nobody to blame but itself for the development. Sadhotra and his party need to go for introspection. Upholding peace has to be left to the people of the two regions, who have displayed ample maturity and also the need for peace. |
