JAMMU, Oct 12 : Hosts Trikuta Volleyball Club shall take on Army Public School (APS) BD Bari in the final of the 3rd Open Women Volleyball Tournament at Higher Secondary School Bahu Fort, here tomorrow. In the semifinals, played today, Trikuta Club defeated Thunder Volt Club in straight but close sets of 25-21, 25-22. Shivali Dogra, Shivali Bhagat and Parasjeet played fine game from winning side while Disha Pathania and Zufra defended well. In other semifinal, APS BD Bari outplayed Government High School Chowadi 25-17, 25-19. Nitishi and Neha did a fine job for the winning BD Bari side while Rift Chowdhary and Akanksha displayed good spike work from Chowadi. Earlier, the competition was declared open by Director School Education, Samita Sethi in the presence of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VolleyBall Association of J&K. Speaking to the gathering she appreciated the efforts of the Trikuta VolleyBall Club for providing women spikers a platform to excel. This tournament is being organized by Trikuta Volleyball Club under the aegis of VolleyBall Association of J&K and over all supervision chairman of the Club, Amarjeet Singh. Prominent among others present were Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Bahu Fort, Anjali Gupta, Manmeet Singh Aman, Inspector Shakti Sharma, Manpreet Kour, Seema Sharma, Iqvinder Pal Singh and Akbar Ali. Matches officiated by the technical penal comprising Jagjit Singh, Wasim Raja Malik and Suman Raj Singh sambyal.
