Srinagar, Oct 27 National Lok Adalats are being organised in both capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar on December 12 to amicably settle cases of different nature among the litigants.
An official spokesperson said Jammu and Kashmir High Court Legal Services Committee is organising a National Lok Adalat on December 12, 2015 in both the wings of High Court at Srinagar and Jammu. Cases that would be taken up and settled through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or conciliation in the National Lok Adalat include Criminal compoundable cases, Negotiable Instruments Act under Section 138, MACT cases, Accident Information Report(AIR) case, State Transport cases, Matrimonial and family courts cases, Labour Disputes Land Acquisition cases, Civil and Revenue cases. Any person interested in settlement of his or her case in the National Lok Adalat may file his or her application with the title and number of the case in the office of Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee, Jammu or Srinagar by or before November 6, he said. Lakhs of cases, some of them pending for decades, were settled by lok adalats in the state during the past few years
