Omar may not get invite for PM's functions in J&K | | | Omar may not get invite for PM's functions in J&K Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 27: J&K's former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is unlikely to be invited to any function of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to the State next week. The PMO has finalized the itinerary of the PM on his visit to the State and also the list of the guests included, sources told Early Times. They said the PMO has categorically stated that Omar should not be included in any of the functions to be held during the PM's visit. It's not for the first time that Omar has fallen out with Modi. Even when he was CM, Omar was not invited to a function of the hydro project in the Kishtwar, and in the subsequent function he made critical remarks about India. Omar has been making highly critical remarks about the BJP and also the RSS which are more of political rhetoric than substance. On the visit of Modi to Katra, Omar had deliberately made gestures as if he was not comfortable in the company of Modi. The drama was aimed at his presumed constituency in Kashmir, where ironically his party was nearly rooted out in the subsequent Assembly election. Omar had been accusing consistently the BJP for all the wrongs in the State and in the process is discrediting the PDP for no authentic reasons. "The PMO has taken a strong notice of it. And, in consultation with the PM and on his directions, it was decided that Omar would not be in the picture in any of the frames when Modi is in the State. It will also be a message to the Congress which is cozying up to Omar despite the fact that both the parties did nothing except looting the State," said the sources. |
