Bovine smuggling bid foiled, smuggler gives slip to police | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Oct 27: Rajouri Police today claimed to have foiled two bovine smuggling bids with the rescue of eight animals while launching a massive manhunt to nab the accused who managed to give police s slip by taking advantage of darkness. Police sources said that police team from Nowshera Police Sub Division, under the supervision of Rakesh Kumar, ASP and Sargun Shukla, SDPO Nowshera today rescued eight bovine animals while foiling two bids of bovine smuggling in Nowshera of Rajouri district. A team of Sub Inspector Mohd Bashir, SHO Dharamshal Police Station rescued four bovines from the clutches of a smuggler during police naka laid in the late night hours on Monday at Solki. On noticing police party the bovine smuggler , who was taking the animals on foot, fled from the scene taking advantage of the darkness however, police has registered a case against him under section 188 RPC and 3 PCA and started investigation. Police sources added that in a similar incident Sub inspector Altaf Hussain , in-charge SHO, Police Station Nowshera laid a naka at Jamari bridge and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing regd no JK11-7317 carrying animals. "Instead of halting the vehicle driver fled from the spot along with the vehicle which accordingly was chased by the police, sources added and said, "the driver later abandoned the vehicle along with animals in a rivulet and fled from the spot." Police has seized the vehicle and rescued the animals, police sources said, adding, "a case FIR NO 198/15 u/s 188 RPC and 3-PCA and investigations are on in this regard."
