Power Grid organizes Inter-collegiate debate competition at MAM College

Jammu, Oct 27 : As a part of its vigilance awareness week celebrations, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Northern Region-II, Jammu organized an inter collegiate debate competition at M.A.M College ,Jammu on the topic "Is corruption free India Possible". In the competition nine renowned colleges across Jammu participated. The program started by the welcome of S.K Sharma Executive Director Power Grid NR-II, followed by lighting of lamp. Prof. Sangeeta Sudan ,Head of Department Chemistry MAM college welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries present on this occasion. Principal of the college Dr. Anita Sudan in her address thanked Power Grid for choosing the college as venue of the competition. She urged upon the children to live a life of integrity and truthfulness. In his address S.K Sharma appreciated the performance of participants and congratulated them for expressing their opinions. He said that steps like e-tendering and e-payments have further strengthened the concept of zero tolerance towards corruption in Power Grid. Colleges participated in this debate competition were Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Sri Pratap Memorial Rajput College of Commerce, Jammu, Government Degree college Kathua, Government Degree College Thanamandi, Government Degree college Paloura , Government Degree college Samba , Government Degree College Udhampur , Vishv Bharti College, Jammu and hosts MAM college. Sajid Javed of Government Degree college Thana-mandi emerged as winner of the competition while Mohd. Mazid of MAM college, Kekkashan Shehnaz of Government Degree College Udhampur and Guneet of Government College for Women, Gandhinagar received 2nd, 3rd and Consolation prizes respectively.
Ajay Holani AGM(PESM), A.K Shukla Astt. GM(F) from Power Grid and Neelika Arora , Assistant Professor Central University, Jammu were the judges of the competition. Vote of Thanks was presented by Sh. R.Narayan, Chief Manager(HR) Power Grid, Jammu. The event was conducted by Prof. Savita Jamwal of MAM college.
