KU invites applications for admission to B. Ed; VC JU still indecisive | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct. 27: The University of Kashmir has invited applications from the eligible candidates for undergoing B.Ed. course there in Distance Education Department for the session 2015 exposing the inefficiency and delaying tactics on the part of Jammu University Authority, who has utterly failed to take timely decision for similar admission to B.Ed. course in DDE for the facility of aspiring candidates of Jammu Division. Early Times is in possession of document of Kashmir University which reveals that it has invited applications from the candidates for taking admission in B.Ed. course vide Admission Notification No: 14 of 2015 through Distance Mode. This has been done despite new Regulations, Norms issued by the National Council for Teachers Education in December 2014 to determine the eligibility conditions. The sources told Early Times that the file for starting admission to B.Ed. Course through Distance Education Department JU was sent to Dean of Education over one and an half month ago, but the file is licking dust in the office of Dean Education saying that the University Authority is in no mood to extend this facility to the candidates of Jammu Division as the whims and vagaries command the working culture of the Vice Chancellor of the University instead of a sound administrative acumen power. The sources further informed Early Times that due to negligent attitude and reluctance of the Jammu University, the majority of financially weak and needy candidates who can only afford to undergo B.Ed course in Distance Education mode are feeling aghast and helpless as they cannot afford to pay hefty fee to take admission in private B.Ed. colleges adding further that the Jammu University is rather allegedly encouraging these private colleges for obvious reasons compelling the indigent and gullible candidates either to discard pursuing B.Ed. course or take admission in private colleges paying huge amount of admission fee. An insider told Early Times pleading anonymity that when the University of Kashmir has gone ahead to issue Admission Notice calling applications for B.Ed. course in DDE Kashmir, then why and what are the compelling reasons for the Jammu University to play with the academic interests of such candidates who have been deprived of this facility especially when the Pro-Chancellor and the Chancellor of both the Universities of the State are one but the working culture of both the Universities are diametrically opposite.
