SVO produces challan against two including Sub Inspector

Jammu. Oct 27: State Vigilance Organization (SVO), Jammu today produced challans against the two public servants including a Sub Inspector before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda.
According to Official spokesperson the challans were produced in case registered under FIR No’s16/2012 and 12/2014 (trap cases) which were registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization, Jammu. Sharing brief facts of the respective cases, SVO spokesperson said,
“A case under FIR No. 16/2012 was registered after complainant namely Shamas-ul-Din Zohid s/o Ghulam Ahmed of Gool Ramban approached P/S VOJ in the month of September 2012 alleging that Satya Paul then posted as Jr Assistant in the office of BMO Batote has demanded Rs.3000/- from, him for preparation of his pensionery benefits.
“On the basis of the complaint a trap was laid and accused Satya Pal was caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs.3000/- from the complainant, spokesperson added. After completing pre and post trap proceeding, the accused was arrested and subsequently he was released on bail under court order.
Similarly, the case FIR No.12/2014 was registered in P/S VOJ in May 2014 on the basis of a complaint lodged by Tanveer Ahmed s/o Mohd Shafi of Paranoo in district Doda alleging therein that he was arrested by accused Sub-Inspector (SI) Rahul Dogra then posted as I/C Police Post Khellani Doda when he was coming towards Pul Doda in his vehicle (4761-06) on the plea that the vehicle was loaded with unauthorized scrap material. He alleged that the accused kept him in
Police lockup and mercilessly beat him up. “The complainant further alleged that the accused SI demanded Rs.3 lacs from him for his release which was finally settled for Rs.20,000/-, SVO official said adding, “On this a trap was laid against the accused who was caught red handed while demanding and accepting Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant.” After completing pre and trap proceeding the accused was arrested and subsequently released on bail under court order.
Meanwhile after obtaining due government sanction the challans in both the cases have been produced against the accused public servants in the competent court of law for their judicial determination and next date of hearing in both the cases have been fixed November 14.
