| Two day refresher training for PlVs organized | | | Jammu, Oct 27 : Two day refresher training for Paralegal Volunteers (PLVs) is being organized today by J&K Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (JKSPYM) in collaboration with Raman Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. at Department of Urdu and Department of Environmental Sciences seminar hall, University of Jammu. Para-Legal Volunteers are the volunteers selected from different walks of life. The Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) are expected to act as intermediaries bridging the gap between the common people and the Legal Services Institutions to remove impediments in access to justice. Ultimately, the process aims at Legal Services Institutions reaching out to the people at their doorsteps rather than people approaching such Legal Services Institutions. Thus, PLVs are expected to have basic understanding about different laws and acts related to elderly people, women, laborers etc. The two day training program as attended by over one hundred Paralegal volunteers hailing from the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) of Jammu district.
In his address Rakesh Kumar, Secretary JKSPYM, welcomes all the participants and the objectives of refresher training was given by Manoj Thacker, CEO Raman Consultants. Ranjana Tikkoo, Deputy Secretary SLSA, is the chief guest on the occasion. |
