Jammu, Feb 4 : Police today claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal alongwith his associate and recovered a country made pistol and a sharp edged weapon from their possession during a naka checking in Kotli of Miran Sahib locality situated in city out skirts
Police sources have identified the accused as notorious criminal namely Pankaj Singh @ Panku s/o Gopal Singh along with Rajat Singh @ Kaka s/o Parshotam Singh both residents r/o Kotli Mian Fateh Miran Sahib Jammu.
"One country made Pistol (Katta) with four live cartridges was recovered from the possession of Pankaj Singh while one sharp edged weapon (Toka) was recovered from the possession of Rajat Singh, police sources said.
"A history sheeter Pankaj Singh was involved in number of criminal activities and accordingly booked in different police stations. He was involved in four cases under FIRs 41/2010 U/S 307/323/109/RPC, 55/2015 U/S 341/323/RPC, 86/2015 U/S 341/323/RPC, 21/2016 U/S 3/25 , 4/25 Arms Act registered at P/S Miran Sahib and one case registered at P/S Bishnah against FIR 86/2010 u/s 302/307/147/148/149/RPC 4/25 Arms Act. ,
Besides these, the accused Pankaj Singh was also declared an absconder in two cases and a non bailable warrant U/S 512 Cr.PC is pending against Pankaj Singh. The arrest was made by SHO Miran Sahib SI Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Hdqrs Ramesh Kotwal under the close supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand. |
