Army Capt posted in Rajouri, goes missing from train | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Feb 10: In a bizarre incident an Army captain posted in Rajouri district of state reportedly went missing during the intervening night of February 6/7while travelling by train from Katihar to New Delhi on his way to join his duties. His family members have registered a case with Railway police on Tuesday. According to reliable sources the captain identified as Sikhardeep left Katihar (Bihar) on February 6 in Mahannada express train to proceed for Jammu (Rajouri). "But the Captain didn't reach at New Delhi and went missing on way as the Railway police found his luggage in the cabin and the Captain was missing, reports said , adding, "somebody has searched the luggage of the Captain as the items were found in cabin. Meanwhile an Army officer at Rajouri briefly said that they were informed by the father of the Captain about his missing between Katihar and New Delhi as the Railway Police after finding address from the luggage had informed the father of the Captain at Katihar where he has also lodged a First Information Report (FIR) about his missing. At the time of filing this report the Captain was still un-traced and hectic efforts by the police and the army were on to trace the missing Captain. Pertinently Captain Sikhardeep has been posted with SIKH LI Regiment deployed in Nowshera sector under the aegis of Nowshera Brigade. Army sources said that the Captain had proceeded on leave and was expected to join his duty recently. Army sources have not denied an incident of train robbery and the Captain might have been fell victims to such robbers who after developing friendly relations offer spiked eatables before committing crime. |
