BJP deceived people of Jammu for lust of power: Dr Manohar | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 12: Continuing his attack on previous regime of duo BJP-PDP, Senior Congress Leader, former minister and General Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Dr Manohar Lal Sharma raised serious concerns over the betrayal of BJP with people of Jammu as the PDP-BJP government failed on all fronts. During his visit of Billawar constituency on Wednesday (February 10), the general secretary Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Dr Manohar Lal Sharma pin pointed that public of the entire Jammu region has suffered due to the lack of governance in the previous 10 months. He accused the BJP that it had surrendered the interests of the Jammuites for the sake of power and deceived the people who voted heavily in favour of the party during the last Assembly elections. He said that BJP made tall claims and raised hollow slogans but after coming in power, it surrendered itself completely at the hands of PDP to enjoy power. He remarked that the both the Central and the State Governments miserably failed to create new employment opportunities for the unemployed youth who are feeling cheated and brewing with anger and resentment. Dr Sharma criticized the new employment policy formulated by the previous BJP-PDP government which is totally against the interest of educated unemployed youth. "The public is facing a lot of day-to-day problems but there was no one to listen to their issues and to address the same. The farming community is suffering facing due to heavy rains and hailstorms which has totally destroyed their crops, he said while adding, "till date government has not taken any step / decision to compensate affected farmers/kissans even though enough hue and cry was made in the assembly during the budget session. "The public is eagerly waiting to see the implementation of the manifesto of the party," he said. Meantime Dr Sharma also supported the genuine demand of teachers engaged on contractual basis for their regularization as already done by the previous government in the year 2010. He further criticized the attitude of the government towards the Rehbar-e- Taleem (ReT) teachers and Anganawadi Workers majority of whom are harassed without any reasons. He also said that it is very unfortunate that the recruitment in J&K police is also changed by the present coalition government and alleged it will boost corruption/favoritism in all columns of government. Dr Manohar Lal Sharma criticized the BJP led central government over the steep rise in the prices of essential commodities. In the end he said common man feels that he is cheated by the false promises made by the PM Modi and his team by saying "Acchey Din aayenge " Senior Congress leader Dr Manohar also stated that the Governor N N Vohra is taking new initiative to bring transparency in the governance due to which the people are of the opinion that the Governor rule should stay for a longer period. |
