| Simple imprisonment, fine awarded to accused in negligent driving case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12: Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Akhnoor Jeewan Kumar Sharma today awarded one month's simple imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000/-for the commission of offence u/s 279 RPC and a sentence of simple imprisonment of six months and a fine of Rs 1000/- .for the commission of offence us 338 RPC. The accused identified as accused Vijay Singh s/o Haqiqat Singh r/o Mattoo Tehsil Akhnoor was facing trial for rash and negligent driving while driving the Bus No. 9639/JK02D on 16/05/08 resulting injuries to a minor girl. As per case, Police Station Akhnoor received an information on 16/05/2008 that a Bus No. JK02D/9639 driven by an unknown driver while going from Akhnoor to Jourian in a rash and negligent manner hit one pedestrian girl child namely Muskan D/o Ashwani R/o Muthi coming from other side and bus driver fled away from the spot. "Due to the rash and negligent act of the accused in the present case a student who may have the better aspects in the future has lost her one foot," police case stated. |
