JAMMU, Apr 3: ABVP on Sunday demanded from Governor NN Vohra to restart the recruitment process of Assistant Professor in state. ABVP President, Lokinder Singh said that the process was caught in the row of controversy for more than six months when both the state universities of Jammu and Kashmir, withdrew the MSP which they issued to eligible Ph.D candidates. Initially they sought clarification from the UGC regarding issuing MSP, to which UGC responded by saying that universities can issue the MSP to the candidates who have obtained degrees as per 2009 UGC regulations. However both the universities failed to implement the regulations on time, thus denying the MSP to Ph.D candidates. Aspirants approached Advisor to Governor who followed and deliberated on the matter and consulted UGC many times over the issue. They also appealed Governor to take such officials to task who make false and unverified claims, which often create tension in the social sector and creates mental harassment to thousands of genuine candidates and demanded immediate restart of the process. Sumit Sharma, Anuj, Tanvir, Richa Sharma and Sunal were also present on the occasion. |
