Don't need your permission to raise pro-India slogans, hoist tricolor | Geelani sahib Kashmir is not your 'fiefdom' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 3: The Hurriyat hawk, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is undergoing treatment in New Delhi, has objected to raising of pro-India slogans and hoisting of tricolor in Kashmir and has threatened of serious consequences if someone dares to do so. "It seems Geelani thinks that Kashmir is his fiefdom and he is the king. Someone needs to remind him that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and no one can stop any denizen of this country from raising pro-India slogans and hoisting the national flag anywhere," an analyst told Early Times. He said, "If Geelani is in so much of love with Pakistan and Azadi he should leave India and get settled there. India is a big country that's why we tolerate his anti-India rant. Had he been living in Pakistan or Saudi Arabia he would have been imprisoned and punished for raising the banner of revolt against the state." Its in place to mention here Geelani, while reacting to raising of pro-India slogans at NIT campus in Srinagar in a statement had said: "The way outsiders tried to force local students to chant slogans like 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' is intolerable for us. The students from other states who are studying here need to keep it in mind that Kashmir is not Delhi or any other Indian state." Geelani's statement evoked sharp reaction from BJP, its Kashmir based spokesman Khalid Jehangir issued a statement on Sunday and described Geelani as a "political thug." "People like Geelani are political thugs but their thuggery is no more relevant now. Their terrorist masters from whom they draw power and sustenance stand exposed internationally. They are vultures who have thrived on dead bodies. They have led young boys to battle fields and graveyards while their own kith and kin are living luxurious lives. The blood thirst of Geelani and others still seems to have not been quenched. They should spare JK now as they have already sucked enough blood of innocents," Jehangir said. A politician while talking to Early Times said, "Geelani and his aides have been misleading the people on the name of Azadi and Pakistan for the past 25-years. Geelani issues such statements to appease his mentors and bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC). People like Geelani and their ideology have become irrelevant. Geelani is no authority to stop people from raising pro-India slogans and hoisting tricolor. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and it is one of the twenty eight states of the country." The politician said that Geelani should mind his words as his statement can harm thousands of Kashmiris who are putting up in other states of India. "He (Geealni) should bear in mind that if he continues his tirade against non-locals in Kashmir it can put thousands of Kashmiris in trouble across India," the politician added. |
