DPK expresses concern over growing Anti-National activities | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 3: Democratic Pannun Kashmir expressed concern over the raising of Anti-National slogans and torching of Tricolour in Govt. Dental College, Jammu by a student of the college to celebrate the defeat of India in ICC World Twenty 20 tournament. The incident of NIT Srinagar, in which after India lost, many local students raised anti-India slogans and even tried to thrash students from other states who were watching the match in their hostel rooms, was also condemned by the DPK. The convenor of the Democratic Pannun Kashmir, Ravinder Jalali appealed the Govt. to take stern action against these anti nationals and warned the administration that if not controlled at the initial stage, will spread to other educational institutions as well. Spokesperson of the party also condemned the one sided action of Police who reportedly took the side of the students raising anti-India and pro-Pak slogans and urged the Govt. to probe the role of Police in NIT. The party spokesperson hailed the hoisting of Tricolour and raising pro-India slogans like 'BHARAT MATA KI JAI' in NIT and asked the Govt. and administration to provide security to the students of NIT who are mostly outsiders and are under threat from anti-nationals and the rival students, who are the locals and are in close touch with the separatists and militants. Party spokesperson also questioned the silence of Omar Abdullah on the NIT and Govt. Medical College issue, who is otherwise prompt to react if any Kashmiri student is arrested or so called harassed outside J&K. |
