| Durga Mandir Dedni to be opened on April 13 | | |  Early Times Report
DODA, Apr 3: The annual festival, in the form of Trishool Bhaint yatra, is Celebrated since 1982 in the memory of re-installation of ancient idol of Mata Durga after it was recovered from Chenani (Udhampur) stolen by smugglers from the Temple.
The Darbar of Durga Mandir Dedni is now going to open this year on April 13, 2016 on the eve of Baisakhi on this occasion the pilgrims from various parts of District Doda, Ramban, Udhampur, & Kishtwar participate in the annual function/festival.
The festivals on the special occasion are celebrated on Baiskhi every year. Thousands of pilgrims participate. No doubt District administration provides every rest of facilities including medical.
Security and drinking water for which the public of Marmat Galiyan and particularly the managing committee is highly grateful of District administration still there a great problem is being faced during the festivals i.e. the provision of electricity power supply.
In addition to the main festivals the pilgrims visit the scared place throughout the year i.e. from Baiskhi to Durga Ashtma falling in the month of Magher Mass. |
