Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 3: Zeenat Zeeshan Fazil, a Srinagar based journalist has been selected for the international course "Investigative Journalism" 2016, organized by Radio Netherland Training Centre(RNTC), a center of excellence in media, development and education, under an NFP-fellowship from EP-Nuffic. The course will be held from 11 April up to and including 22 April 2016 (2 weeks), at the RNTC premises in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Zeenat covers investigative stories related to Health, Environment, human rights, ethnic, political, and socio-economic issues within the state for Kashmir Images. Over the years Zeenat has done work related to drug abuse and mental health in Kashmir and the impact of violence on youth. Zeenat is engaged in various social and cultural activities. She is currently associated with Charkha Development Communication Network, an organization that promotes the developmental concern of marginalized sections of Kashmiri society, particularly in rural areas. Zeenat is also associated with Interchurch Peace Council, Netherlands, which works to promotes peace and reconciliation in conflict areas including Kashmir. As an editor with Fazil Kashmiri Publications, she edited 'Focus', a book on Mass Media and Linguistics (2006) and also 'Falcons of Paradise', (2009) a reference book documenting 100 Eminent Personalities of J&K starting from 14th century. She also is an Editor of 'Golden Harvest' (an autobiography of Syed Zeeshan Fazil) published in 2013. In 2012, her write-up on Kashmir was adjudged as second best at an international conference organized by Sajid Iqbal Foundation (SIF) in collaboration with Australia-India Institute. |
