Empowerment of women, PDP-BJP coalition Govt's priority: Shanti Devi | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 16: Dozens of Women Social workers joined PDP today in presence of Senoir party Mahila Leader and former MLA, Shanti Devi at Party Ofiice, Gandhi Nagar here on Saturday. A large number of women led by Jyoti Gupta and Rashmi Sharma joined Peoples Democratic Party here before the party Mahila wing Senior Leader Shanti Devi. Mamta Gupta, Rashmi Sharma and Chandrika Khosla are prominent who joined party. While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold Shanti Devi said that women empowerment is the priority of present coalition govt led by Mehbooba Mufti and added that a number of programmes for strengthening women were started during short tenure of govt under the leadership of Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed . She further said that the present Govt is committed to fulfil the dreams of visionary leader. Shanti Devi stressed upon them to whole-heartedly support the policies and programmes of the PDP and strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister and party president, Mehbooba Mufti "as she is the only leader in the State who has the vision about the problems of the women-folk and can solve them." She also urged other women-leaders of PDP to strengthen their wards in Jammu City and hold meetings in every ward so that message of the party reaches to the common masses. Sr leader Anju Bhan, Ritu Gondhi, Raj Rani, Muneera, Shammiji and others were also present on the occassion. |
