State of art facility Auditorium to come up in Kishtwar: Secy JKAACL | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Apr 16: Asserting that academy is trying to reach out to far remote areas of the state so as to give a platform to artist living in rural areas of the state, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Professor Aziz Hajani today said a modern and state of art Auditorium is to come up in Kishtwar. While talking to "Early Times" on the sideline of Multi Lingual Mushaira organized by Cultural Academy Sub Office Kishtwar at Tourist Reception Center Kishtwar, he said academy is trying to reach out to areas like Marwah, Marwan, Dachhan, Padder and far flung areas of the state so as to give them a platform and an opportunity to artist living in rural areas of the state. In a question regarding construction of state of art auditorium at Kishtwar sanctioned during Ghulam Nabi Azad led PDP-Congress regime a decade ago, Secretary Cultural Academy said that the land acquisition process has been completed and matter already stands been taken up with Revenue Minister Basharat Bukhari for handing over of the acquired land so that construction process could be undertaken taken. He said that he will take up the matter personally with Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu besides local Minister Sunil Sharma for early sanction and release of funds for construction of the auditorium at Kishtwar. He however regretted that about 100 posts including posts of cultural officers are lying vacant in the department which is hampering the functioning of the department. He added that efforts are being made to fill up all these posts in shortest possible time. Secretary JKACL said that the matter also shall be taken up with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and also with the concerned minister for fast track filling up of all these vacant posts. He said that once these posts will be fulfilled, full-fledged Cultural Officer will be posted at Kishtwar. Earlier during the Multi Lingual Mushaira local and state level poets enthralled the audience wherein Secretary Cultural Academy, Assistant Secretary Amman Singh, ACD Kishtwar Akther Qazi, Chief Agriculture Office Sunil Khapia, Wali Mohammad Aseer, Kewal Krishan and Bashir were present as guests of honour. Several local registered organizations associated with Art and Culture felicitated Secretary Cultural Academy and also handed over memorandum of demands to him |
