BDO 'ignores' Tehsildar's order | | | MS Nazki Early Times Report
Poonch, Apr 16: Even as Mendhar Tehsildar had asked BDO (block development officer) to make immediate arrangements for removal of garbage and dead animals from the bus stand area of Mendhar, the latter is yet to act on his order. After taking stock of the situation, Mendhar Tehsildar Slamdin directed BDO three days back to make arrangements for immediate removal of heaps of garbage and dead animals from the bus stand area of Mendhar. "As the dead animals are lying there for many days, emanating foul smell, we apprehend the spread of some epidemic. It is difficult to pass from there due to the unbearable foul smell," locals said. "The lackadaisical attitude of the subordinate staff of tehsildar is highly condemnable as the matter is of great public importance," they said, demanding action against the officials concerned. The rural development department is also to be blamed for not maintaining cleanliness in the area. "It is total failure of the administration and we appeal to the district authorities to pay a heed to our pleas as our lives have become hell due to the presence of filth in the bus stand area," locals said. |
