Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 18: The State Government has directed all the concerned departments in Jammu valley to purchase the cement from JK Cements Ltd (JKCL) as first preference and report compliance. According to the government order no 89-IND of 2016 issued by the commissioner Secretary to government industries and commerce department it is enjoined upon all state government departments to purchase their requirements of cement in the Jammu division from the Jammu and Kashmir Cements Ltd. It further said that concerned departments should only approach the open market in case the J&K Cements is unable to supply the requisite quantity and a non availability certificate is obtained from them by the Purchasing Department. The Government has taken serious exception that cement is being purchased by Government departments from open market in contravention to Government orders. The Government has warned that violation of standing order in future will be viewed seriously. The Government has also issued directives to treasury officers not to entertain the bills on account of the cost of cement in favour of any supplier without observing the requisite terms and conditions as laid down in the Government order. |
