RAMBAN, June 25: Police today foiled a narco-smuggling bid and nabbed one person along with seven kilograms of poppy straw.
Acting on a specific information, cops signalled a Tavera to stop for checking in the town. The Tavera driver tried to break the police naka, but the cops foiled his attempt, police sources said.
During checking of the vehile, 7 kg poppy straw was recovered from the possession of its driver Maysir Ahmed Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmed Khan of Challgund, Kupwara.
The accused was arrested and booked under section 8/15 of NDPS. The contraband was also seized. |
