Mirwaiz rakes up beef ban issue ahead of Amarnath Yatra | Attempt to foment trouble | | Early Times Report jammu, Jun 25: A day after government announced that liquor cannot be banned in Jammu and Kashmir the Pro-Pakistan Hurriyat dove, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, condemned the refusal and tried to once again hurt the sentiments of Hindus by questioning why the beef has been banned in JK. "If for the government liquor is a matter of freedom of choice then why the ban on consuming beef?" Mirwaiz wrote on the micro blogging site twitter. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It seems like other separatists, Hurriyat dove too is under tremendous pressure to foment trouble in Kashmir." He said, "By raking up the beef issue again, Mirwaiz wants to flare up the situation ahead of Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to start early next month. He wants to pit Jammu against Kashmir by giving controversial statements." An observer said, "The Hurriyat dove is well aware about the fact that beef issue had turned into a major controversy and he wants to once again trigger unrest by provoking the people in Jammu region as well in Kashmir." He said, "Handlers of separatists in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) have served an ultimatum to separatists that they should perform or perish. Separatists handlers have warned them that if they don't succeed in creating some sort of unrest in Kashmir their funding channels would be choked and new people would be roped in to carry forward the proxy war launched by Pakistan in Kashmir." The Hurriyat dove, according to the analysts, has been sidelined by the Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani and the so-called JKLF Chief Yasin Malik. "No he (Mirwaiz) wants to score some brownie points over his opponents by stoking some controversy to appease his handlers sitting in PoK and Pakistan. Mirwaiz has made a habit of leading anti-India rallies and hoisting Pakistan and IS flags in old city on Fridays, and it has been proven beyond doubt that his henchmen orchestrate stone pelting and street protests in old city after Friday congregation prayers," the analyst said. He said, "Pakistan dumping Mirwaiz and patronizing the Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani too has made Mirwaiz's position awkward and he somehow wants to get into the good books of the Pakistani handlers. On the other hand people sitting in New Delhi too have made the separatists irrelevant and they have been left nowhere to go." A Kashmir watcher said, "Separatists are caught in quagmire of uncertainty. No one wants to own them, neither Pakistan, nor India, nor the people of Kashmir." |
