Early Times Report Srinagar, Jun 25: Not just the lesser mortals, the babus also lose nerves at times and behave accordingly. They, however, are lucky, as people ranging from top police officials to a peon in the babus office keep the secret and the babu is spared humiliation. Early this week, according to reliable sources, a top IAS officer attempted suicide after a senior officer called on him. The babus domestic aide found the house unusually calm. On enquiry he found the babu lying semi-unconscious in his own pool of blood. He raised an alarm and the babu's staff rushed in only to find blood oozing out from the wrist of the babu. The babu was rushed to a local government hospital where he luckily found a surgeon who fixed the deep cut on his wrist. The surgeon said the babu survived because he reached the hospital on time.
