Early Times Report poonch, June 25: A prominent Gujjar leader Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to pass a bill in the ongoing session of J&K Legislative Assembly to continue reservation in promotions for government employees belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, Resident of backward areas the state. Hakla said that every sphere of life, reservation is the need of the hour and is a necessity for Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes communities. Laying a specific stress on the matter, Shamsheer Hakla said that the status of Scheduled Tribe was granted to the Gujjar and Bakarwal Community on April 19, 1991 by the Government of India which has completed 25 years but the state government has not been implementing it in letter and spirit so as to give full benefit of Scheduled Tribe status for the Gujjar & Bakarwal community. |
