 Early Times Report Jammu, June 28: Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu, Sanjay Gupta today granted 14 days judicial remand of the accused in Aap Shambhu temple desecration case. Yasir Alfaz, son of Kher Din of Shiva, Doda, was arrested by Janipur police under sections 295, 295-A, 353 and 506 of RPC in the temple desecration case. He was produced in the court in the after with police seeking his remand to the judicial custody for 15 days. The judge, after hearing the CPO and perusal of the CD file, observed that the investigation in the case was in progress and severe accusation had been leveled against the accused. "Police prayer seems to be genuine and in accordance with law," he said and ordered that accused be remanded to judicial custody for 14 days and be sent to central jail, Kot-Bhalwal, Jammu. The court also directed the jail superintendent to keep the accused in safe custody so that no untoward incident took place. According to the section 497-B of CrPC, the accused would have been released on bail had the investigation not been completed within two weeks. |
