Educational institutes, ors organisation celebrate 70th I-Day across Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug14: Various Social, educational institutes, Political and other celebrated 70th I- Day across Jammu. Sacred Heart College of Education celebrated Independence Day at college premises Paloura. Tricolour Flag was hoisted by MD of the college Hari Singh Chib . Hari Singh Chib during his address said that India got Independence after a long struggle and sacrificing great dignities of the country. We live in Independent India and should maintain brotherhood, communal harmony among ourselves at any cost. He also asked the staff and students to visit the nearby areas to guide them to maintain brotherhood and communal harmony.Chief Guests, during their address expressed the importance of Independence day and also asked for maintaining communal harmony among ourselves at any cost. Social economic development society regd in association with youth hostel association of India organised a patriotic songs based programme at sarwal Jammu, wherein prominent singers, artists, social workers took part.On this occasion the patriotic compositions were sung to mark the independence day celebration by these artists. The due respect to freedom fighters was also given who sacrificed their life for freedom of ours. Slogans like Bharat mata ki jai, mera bharat mahaan raised holding flags in hands to show solidarity, brotherhood and unity of the country. At the end vote of thanks was presented by Rampaul dogra to all the distinguish guests. The 70th Independence Day was celebrated here at Rajinder Park, Jammu, today with tremendous enthusiasm and fervour by the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association. Amidst a huge gathering, the Association Deputy Chairman Capt. Kamal Chand Motan hoisted the National Flag and took the salute. Motan inculcated the nationalism in the enthusiastic community members by throwing light on the supreme sacrifices made by Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru while safeguarding the honour of their motherland. On this historic occasion, Association members paid glowing tributes to Indo-Pak War Hero Lance Naik Mohan Lal Lakhotra. R.L. Kaith mention Lance Naik Mohan Lal, For displaying gallantry and determination of a high order, the then President of India V.V. Giri awarded 'Vir Chakra' to Lance Naik Mohan Lal posthumously. Kaith said that remembering courageous freedom fighters and valiant soldiers and paying tributes to them on their days depict the gratitude of the indebtedness people to national heroes who gave up their today for our safe tomorrow. 70th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and zeal by Dogri Sanstha Jammu at Dogri Bhawan here . A special Kavi Sammelan was organized on this occasion wherein participating poets recited their poems,Ghazals and songs on various themes including national integration, independence, human values and prevailing situation of society . Addressing the writers and poets Gen Jamwal called upon the intelligentsia of Jammu to lead the masses in ensuring respectable status and equitable share in power and development for Duggar. He said that our people had made innumerable sacrifices to secure and maintain independence and integration of country but they are not getting their due share. Prof Magotra, who also recited his latest poems, appreciated the standard of poems presented in special Kavi Sammelan. The youth wing of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) celebrated the independence day at Jammu and hoisted the National Flag under the leadership of veteran State Youth President Er.Rishi Kaul Kilam. While addressing the large number of party activists he stated that the nation owes a lot to Mahatma Gandhi and other brave freedom fighters who laid their lives for the sake of freedom and achieved it after long struggle and sacrifices. All of us must have reverence for the father of the nation and other freedom fighters. While hoisting the he said that we are living under the shadow and symbol of this flag but our national and state leaders have always ignored the burning problems of the poor people of India. They have become mostly political beings and less human beings. While showing anguish he added that even after 70 years of independence the leaders have failed especially on economic front. |
