| Rajiv Gandhi remembered on 72nd birth anniversary | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 20: Former Prime Minister of India remembered on 72nd birth anniversary in Jammu Province.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee celebrated 72nd Birth Anniversary of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. In this connection JKPCC held a meeting of party leaders in Srinagar, which was presided over by Party Spokesperson. On this occasion Congress Leaders paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister and remembered the sacrifices he made for the integrity of the Country. Recalling the services rendered by Rajiv Gandhi for the Nation. Congress leaders termed him a symbol of development and honesty, they said it is because of the efforts of Rajive Gandhi that Nation touched the new heights in Education, Computer Science, Agriculture, Science technology, besides overall development of the people especially those living in far-flung areas. Introduction of Computer science in the Country was one of the great achievement of Former Prime Minister, which gave a new direction to the Nation to move towards prosperity and development. This revolutionary step was a remarkable decision taken by Rajiv Gandhi. The Implementation of Panchayati Raj in the country was also one of the historical achievement of Rajive Gandhi, who remained concerned for the wellbeing of the people of the country and wanted them to decide their development from grass roots level themselves thereby bringing the development at their door steps.
Different social, political and education institutions paid rich tribute to Former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi on his 72nd birth anniversary. In this regard Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education organised a seminar on the topic ' Life history & contribution of Rajiv Gandhi in the development of the country'. Students took active part after offering garland to picture of departed congress leader. Students threw light on the life history and contribution of former Prime Minister of india wherein students said Rajiv Gandhi brought revolution of development in the field of technology and Communication sector. They said it was his dream that people have been now connected with tele- conferencing, e -notes, Internet facility, IT and technology that helps not only in the field of education but also in development of the Country. Principal appreciated enthusiasm shown by students to highlight the life history of former PM.
District Congress Committee also celebrated the day and paid rich tribute to Rajiv Gandhi at District head quarter office Kathua wherein Subash Gupta District president Congress and former MLC highlighted the contribution of departed leader. While addressing to party leaders assembled at office, Subash Gupta said, Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the development of the country and to maintain peace & tranquility not only in India but also neighbor countries. He said Gandhi brought era of technology and communication in the country with the aim to make India a powerful country. He said Panchayti raj, declined Voters' age and many other achievements of the leader can not be forgotten. He said "BJP talks about ' Digital India" but Rajiv Gandhi was real pioneer of digital India who brought era of technology in the country and what BJP says today, Rajiv Gandhi would make India digital several decades ago if he was alive more." |
