Relax upper age limit to appoint petitioner as lecturer: HC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 27: A high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir today directed state to appoint the petitioner as lecturer in Urdu by relaxing the upper age limit. The court directive came in a petition filed by Dr Shamima. After hearing the two sides, the bench said the petitioner was entitled to get selected as lecturer in Urdu as she had secured 62.36 marks against the cut-off marks of 54.96 in open merit. Being a PhD, her proposal for age relaxation be forwarded by PSC to the government within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, the bench said and directed that on receipt of the proposal from PSC, the higher education department would seek relaxation of upper age from GAD. On grant of formal order of relaxation of upper age from GAD, the government would issue the appointment order in favour of the petitioner as a lecturer in Urdu. "The entire process is directed to be completed by the secretary of higher education department and GAD within eight weeksfrom the date of receipt of the proposal from PSC," the bench said. (JNF) |
