Jammu, Aug 27: The picture of Muzaffar Wani, father of the slain Hizbul commander Burhan Wani, along with Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has gone viral on the social networking sites. On Saturday evening, Sri Sri posted on twitter a photo standing with Wani in his ashram saying, "Muzaffar Wani, the father of Burhan Wani was in the ashram for the last two days. We discussed several issues." Sri Sri's tweet was retweeted more than a thousand times by 9pm Saturday creating abuzz. A few news portals quoted Muzaffar Wani as saying that he had gone to Bangalore for treatment and he met Sr Sri for a few minutes. Though the background of the meeting was not clear, many people have started questioning the motive of the meeting. "The way people are trolling Sri Sri Ram and Burhan wani's father is the exact way they follow Separatists..... Purposelessly and aimlessly," posed one Qurat Ulayan on Facebook Its in place to mention here that Kashmir has witnessed violent protests since July 8 this year when Burhan was killed in an encounter with forces in south Kashmir. Since then separatists have been calling the shots and so far 70 people have died in the violent clashes. A poster-boy of Hizb, Burhan was famous for posting videos on Kashmir on social media. He joined the Hizbul Mujahideen in 2010, when he was just 15 years of age. His father is also seen as a hardliner, who lost to his two sons to Kashmir conflict. |
