| Ratnu Chack Enclave residents allege army for harassing | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28: A general body meeting of residents and plot owners of Ratnu Chack Enclave was held today under the chairmanship of Col. P.L.Chowdhary (Retd) wherein more than 50 residents and plot owners assembled and unanimously condemned the harassment and unwarranted day to day interference by the army on the directions of Brig. Rajeev Sharma, Station Commander and Commander 3(I) Armed Brigade. The residents claimed that they are the lawful owner of the said land/houses. The Notification No. 14/2010 dated 11/10/2010 issued under Section 4 (1) of the J&K Land Acquisition Act by then Deputy Commissioner, Jammu has now been rescinded vide Order No. 183/DCJ of 2016 dated 02.05.2016 issued by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu. The said order was also published by the administration in leading newspapers on 2nd May, 2016 for the awareness of the general public that the said land is free from any legal dispute. The residents pointed out that even after receiving the Order No. 183/DCJ of 2016 of DC, Jammu; the Army is harassing the residents & plot owners. The members appealed to the concerned authorities to take appropriate action and restrain the army authorities from harassing the lawful owners of Ratnu Chack Enclave. The members further warned that if administration failed to restrain the army authorities in the matter, they shall have no option but to resort to agitation which may lead to the law & order problem in the area. |
