Separatist leader meets Track-II actor in Srinagar | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sep 2: Defying the instructions of Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Geelani, a senior separatist leader this week held several rounds of talks with a Track-II actor in Srinagar. The meeting took place at Rajbagh residence of a former PDP minister, sources said. They said that the visiting diplomat is camping in Srinagar to help the government in bringing back normalcy to Kashmir currently witnessing unrest from last 56 days. "The duo held several rounds of talks; they deliberated upon the current situation in length and tried to find out solutions for bringing an end to ongoing crisis," sources said. They said that the separatist leader, who hasn't uttered a single word regarding the current unrest, for the first time discussed the situation with the diplomat. "He stayed at former minister's residence located in Rajbagh Srinagar for two days," they added However, sources claimed that talks between the two were informal. As reported earlier, chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq too held informal talks with senior police cops at Chasmashahi guesthouse which state government has converted into a sub jail for him. However, Geelani has instructed his cadre to not hold talks with any visiting diplomat working on back channels or politician till India accepts the conditions put forward by him. A set of five conditions put forward by him for holding the talks, includes accepting of Kashmir as a dispute. |
