| Fraudsters cheat old woman, escape with two golden bangles | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 2: Some unidentified fraudsters today targeted an elderly women and escape with her two golden bangles from samba area. Police sources said that an elderly woman identified as Maya Devi wife of Karan Chand of Bassi Bishnah was on way to Nad to meet her sister and while waiting for minibus at Samba a man in attire of Sadhu along with three women came to the elderly woman and started formal talks with her. During talk, women praised about the Sadhu and said that he has spiritual powers with which he can double her golden ornaments. Maya Devi offered her two golden bangles to them and the sadhu put them in a piece of cloth and one by one they started escaping assuring the woman that two bangles would turn into four after some time. When Maya Devi opened the piece of cloth there were only small pebbles in it. Later, the matter was reported to police and police registered a case and started investigation however, no arrest was made when last reports came in. |
