J&K state bags another award in NHM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Sept 2: Jammu and Kashmir State bagged another award in National Health Mission for its Unique institutionalization of ASHA programme at the National Summit held at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh under the chairmanship of JP Nadda, Union Minister for Health& Family Welfare, Govt. of India. National Health Mission (NHM) has made tremendous achievements under the dynamic leadership, Minister for H&ME Department Bali Bhagat, MOS Asiea Naqash, Commissioner/ Secretary, H&ME Deptt. Dr. MK Bhandari and Director NHM Dr. Mohan Singh. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI in a communiqué recently addressed to the Chief Secretary, J&K has lauded the performance of NHM in the J&K State for timely utilisation of funds on various projects and undertaking several reformative measures in implementation of National Health Mission in the State during the financial year 2015-16. Recently, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI has identified State specific practices numbering about 300 across the Country with regard to implementation of various interventions taken up under National Health Mission. Out of which only 32 have been selected as the Best Practices to be awarded in the 3rd National Summit on "Best and Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Health Care Systems" held at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh from 29th-31st August 2016. Out of 32 best practices, two best practices were selected from Jammu & Kashmir State i.e (1)"Unique institutionalization of ASHA programme in the J&K State" and (2) "Infographics for Disease Control". Minister for H&ME Department Bali Bhagat,, appreciated the role of Health Department, especially Mission Director NHM, J&K; Director Health Services Jammu/Kashmir and Director Family Welfare, J&K regarding integration of regular manpower of health department which in turn brought appreciable results at the State level and also in implementing various interventions under NHM and advised these Head of Departments to regularly monitor their staff for bringing improvement in the health care delivery system in the coming years. |
