Man dies of electrocution in Jammu, family protests, blocks traffic | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 2: A man today died of electrocution, when he had gone to water his fields in Bari Brahmna area, while his family staged protest and disrupted traffic here. A man identified as Ravi Singh (38) of village Smailpur at Bari Brahmana area in Samba district died, when he suffered an electrocution due to a damaged electric wire lying in his fields. He died on the spot, police said. They said he was rushed to hospital, but declared as brought dead. Later, the family and relatives of the deceased staged a sit-in outside the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu in Bakshi Nagar area. The protestors shouted slogans against Power Development Department and sought compensation. They burnt tyres and blocked the road, due to which city witnessed long hour traffic jams. Police and administrative officials rushed to the spot to pacify the situation. |
