Young Panthers hold demonstration, criticize MLA Ramnagar

ramnagar, Sept 2: Accusing MLA Ramnagar R.S Pathania of having brought the developmental activity in the constituency to a grinding halt, Young Panthers today held a massive protest in Ramnagar town and alleged total disregard of various villages in development and allied sectors during the present BJP-PDP rule. The protestors raised slogans against the local MLA and the Deptts. of PMGSY, Rural Development, R&B and Education for alleged chaotic state of affairs prevailing in the said departments.
Addressing the gathering Pawan Dev Singh, State Secretary Young Panthers said that rural populace was feeling a lot of inconvenience with 90% of the existing roads having got damaged in Ramnagar constituency and the departmental functionaries having failed to ensure their repairs and renovations. He said that the power transformers remained un-repaired for months together with the power deptt. seeking money from the local people for replacement of such transformers on the pretext of transportation charges. He said that not only were the people deprived of power facility in several villages despite payment of monthly tariff but huge amounts were extorted from them for replacing damaged transformers.
Quoting specific instances, he said that people or Rassain Panchayat were charged Rs. 4000, people of Chiani Panchayat were charged Rs. 2600, people of Sundla Panchayat were charged Rs. 2800, people of Satrairi Panchayat were charged Rs. 3000/- for replacement of their damaged transformers and that too after periods ranging from two to four months from the date of damages
The Panthers Leaders further expressed grave concern over the acute deficiency of teaching staff in rural areas schools particularly HSS Khaned, HS Chakaal, HS Pachound, HSS Thial, HSS Garh Samnabhanj, HS Chore Motto, HS Sathian etc and surplus teachers posted in towns and other prized locations by way of attachments. He said that all such attachments had been made in prime locations on extraneous and monetary considerations which needed to be investigated. Strongly flaying the local representative for the pathetic state of affairs in Ramnagar constituency Young panthars lambasted the MLA for taking credit for the road projects which got approved by Harsh Dev Singh during his tenure as MLA Ramnagar. Shankar Dass Senior Panthers Leader sought an enquiry into large scale frauds and irregularties in the Rural Development Deptt. in Ramnagar constituency. He said that duing the last two years funds under MG-NREGA, CD and Panchayats, IWMP were abused and plundered by dishonest officials in collusion with corrupt politicians and sought a high level probe into the same.
