BJP govts insults martyred Jammu soldiers: Congress | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24 :The Pak-sponsored act of terrorism targeting Indian Army establishment at Uri in which 18 brave soldiers were martyred has thoroughly exposed the BJP-led ruling coalition both at the Centre and Jammu and Kashmir. It is shocking that they have chosen to ignore the martyred Dogra regiment soldiers and their families despite their public proclamations on nationalism. In a joint statement issued here today senior Congress leaders Dr Manohar Lal, former Minister, Ashok Sharma, ex-MLA, and Mohinder Bhardwaj, member executive committee Pradesh Congress Committee, said the unfortunate incident has blown the mask of nationalism off the BJP leaders' face. Most appalling has been the treatment of utter neglect meted out by these leaders and their Governments to the martyred soldiers of Jammu region. Paying tributes to the brave hearts, they expressed shock that the two martyred soldiers of the state and their families have been totally neglected by the state government in which BJP is a leading partner and claimant for all the "good work" being done. "We have been forced to take up this issue in the greater interest of the country and society and with no intention to politicize it. We demand the state government should immediately provide monetary relief of Rs. 25 lakhs, each to the families of the soldiers and employment to one of the members of the family. They said BJP's nationalism was nothing but hypocritical which has been thoroughly proved by their attitude towards the martyrs. The silence of the Chief Minister and other PDP Ministers on remembering the martyrs of Jammu is understandable as it explains their mindset but people of Jammu region are shocked by the attitude of BJP leadership.
