Rs 560 crore for separatists, no penny for Uri martyrs | Height of Insensitivity | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: It's height of insensitivity. There were governments of Maharashtra, Bihar and Jharkhan, which took no time to announce ex-gratia for the Uri martyrs of September 18 and here in J&K is a government which doesn't have in its kitty even a penny for the Dogra martyrs, Ravi Paul and Karnail Singh, and that too when the BJP, the so-called nationalist party, is part of the government. BJP Minister did visit the martyrs' families on Friday and returned after shedding crocodile tears. He disn't announce any ex-gratia for the bereaved families. On September 18, the Pakistani butchers attacked the Uri Army Base camp in the early morning and martyred 10 soldiers. 13 of them were burned alive. Two of them were from Jammu - Ravi Paul and Karnail Singh. The attack wounded the Indian nation, which demanded stringent action against Pakistan including surgical operations in the POJK to bring Islamabad to justice. The Government of Maharashtra announced ex-gratia for the martyrs and each bereaved family got Rs 15 lakh. In Bihar, the bereaved families were given ex-gratia at the rate of Rs 11 lakh per family and in Jharkhand, the local government paid ex-gratia at the rate of Rs 10 lakh per bereaved family. See the plight of the Dogra martyrs. The state government and the Union Government spend more than Rs 110 crore to keep the Kashmiri separatists in a good mood. During the past five years, both the governments spent Rs 560 crore on the Kashmiri separatists. When the outraged people questioned the Union Government's such attitude towards the Kashmiri separatists, the PMO said the government was spending money on them and providing security to them because there was the possibility of Pakistan eliminating these separatists. So caring is Delhi as far as the Kashmiri separatists is concerned. It is intriguing that while the government has opened its treasury for the separatists, it doesn't have the audacity even to sanction or announce ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh per family. It's only natural that the people are seething with anger and questioning the very credentials of the BJP. When will the BJP rise from slumber and feel the people's pulse? |
