PCC mulls show cause notice to Manohar Lal | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: Irked over the alleged attempts of former minister and PCC general secretary Dr Manohar Lal Sharma to project himself bigger than size in the party, the Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir is mulling to clip his wings. To show Dr Manohar Lal his place, a show cause notice is likely to be served him by the PCC Disciplinary Committee for his participation in recently held public meetings of the dissident camp in Hiranagar and Bishnah, informed sources in the Congress circles. A decision in this regard had almost been taken by the PCC president and as per the sources, PCC Senior Vice-President Sham Lal Sharma has also given his nod for the same. The show cause notice is likely to be served by the end of this month, sources added. Pertinent to mention that despite being given the post of general secretary in Pradesh Congress Committee, Azad loyalist Manohar Lal is active in the dissident camp. Because of his closeness with former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Dr Manohar Lal is a critic of Sham Lal Sharma while his allegiance with dissident camp also forced G A Mir to abandon him, sources explained. In such circumstances, the purported participation of Dr Manohar in the recently held parallel public meetings by dissidents in Hiranagar and Bishnah, provided an opportunity to both Mir and Sham to teach him a lesson and issue a warning by getting a show cause notice served to him, sources said. Even as Congress dissidents and their activities are a well known fact for the PCC chief as well as the high-command, no action was initiated so far against them, except Gulchain Singh Charak, Prem Sagar Aziz and Abdul Ghani Vakil. |
