| SSB Cop dies, 2 other injured in road mishap | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 12: A constable was killed while two other cops of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a parapet near Shakuntala Chowk. Meanwhile, an elderly man undergoing treatment at Military Hospital (MH) Satwari after road accident succumbed today.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Ali Mohd (24) son of Mohd Din of Surinsar while identity of the injured have been established as Constable SSB Tariq Hussain (24) son of Mohd Rashid of Lam Nowshera and Head Constable Rakesh Kumar (30). The trio was posted at MA Stadium Jammu.
Police sources said that accident took place when the trio was riding a motorcycle and when they reached near Shakuntla Chowk, the motorcycle collided with parapet on road.
After getting the information police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for treatment where during treatment Ali Mohd succumbed to injuries. A case in this connection stands registered and further investigation is on. Meanwhile, an elderly man was who was undergoing treatment at Military Hospital (MH) Satwari after road accident succumbed today. The deceased has been identified as Babu Ram (75) son of Ompal of Hamripur Sidhar Khour Police said that he sustained injuries on October 9 when he was hit by a car at Domana. He was shifted to Military Hospital (MH) Satwari and succumbed to his injuries. Later, Police shifted body to the mortuary of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for postmortem. |
