Ladakhi students hold protest against LAHDC administration | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 23: Ladakhi students today held a peaceful protest against administration of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh for their irresponsible and arrogant attitude towards the helpless students. They further said that all students from Ladakh, studying in Jammu and different parts of country want a parallel exam centre at Jammu for the forthcoming examination for general line teacher/VLW/MPW, on Octoeber 29. "Due to the prevailing situation in Kashmir it is not safe for the students to travel through Kashmir in such circumstances, the Manali -Leh road is also officially closed for traffic and air-fare is also too high for the students, which they can't afford", they said. At the same time, there are mid-term exams are going on in various semester exams in different Universities and various other competitive exams. Few days back they approach the administration with the request for a parallel centre at Jammu. We were expecting a positive response from the administration, but after repeated calls and formal letters to CEO and DO Leh, we don't get a positive response from them, even the authorities at LAHDC Leh not even considering our request. We will continue our protest till the authorities at Leh consider our request of a parallel centre at Jammu or postponement of the said exam. |
