Border sufferers left on God's mercy:Jan | | | Early Times Report
poonch, Oct 23: Terming the recent visit of Rajouri and Poonch districts by National Conference patron and Former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah as an example of his pro-people approach and concern towards border residents, National Conference cadre today said that all the border firing victims of Rajouri and Poonch have been left on the mercy of God with no government help extended to shelling victims of Saujiayn Gali Maidan. In a press statement issued here by Youth NC Provincial President Ajaz Jan, he said that situation along borders is still to get normal and people living in the areas near Line of Control are suffering badly. He said that in last four days, Pakistan restored to heavy mortar shelling in several villages of Manjakote Tehsil of Rajouri inclding Khori Nar, Niaka, Rajdhani and others damaging some structures also. " Shifting of people from the affected villages of Manjakote is a far dream, no senior officers except SHO Manjakote bothered to visit the areas and to meet with affected people " Jan said. He added that same is the situation of people in Gali Maidan Saujiyan where more than twenty seven shops were reduced on ground in Pakistani shelling. " People of the area are also waiting for government help and so far no senior leaders of state government bothered to visit the area " Jan added.
