TWA to observe black day on Diwali | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 28: Teacher's Welfare Association has decided to celebrate the Diwali festival as "Black Day", as the Education authorities have totally unnerved and adopt lack-luster attitude in releasing the salary of SSA Teacher's/Master's besides new pension scheme employees from the last five months. According to press release, the President of TWA Jasmeet Singh Madaan said, "We have been left with no option than to celebrate Diwali festival as Black Day because they are unable to purchase new clothes, toys, gifts for their children and family members because of acute financial crunch as the Govt. did not initiate any measures to release their grants of salary of SSA and NPS employees despite many reminders. Now only one official day is left for Diwali and the grant of salary has not been released yet, our SOS messages to Hon'ble Chief Minister and Finance Minister has turned a deaf ear and the entire leadership of BJP too is watching the situation as a mute spectator and done nothing to provide them any relief", they said. Generally, it has been seen that the entire bureaucracy comes into action when any festive season arrives and every effort is put forth to keep the employees happy by releasing DA instalment besides timely release of pay dues so that the festival be enjoyed with full zeal and fervour but this euphoria is missing this time and the employees are forced to celebrate Diwali with empty pocket. Jasmeet once again appealed Mehbooba Mufti, and Haseeb Drabu Finance Minister to listen the woes of its employees and redressed the same on war footing so that the SSA Teacher's/Master's besides RETs/RRETs and New Pension Scheme employees can celebrate Diwali in true sense. |
