RSS snubs BJP ministers for being 'insensitive' towards border migrants | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 28: Even as the border inhabitants are facing worst ever situation owing to heavy shelling from Pakistan side, which has left several injured, the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party in Jammu Kashmir and more particularly its ministers seemed to have turned a Nelson's eye towards plights of these border residents. It was only after strong criticism of the BJP ministers in media and consequent snub by the high command as well as top RSS brass that senior BJP leaders spared sometime to visit the border migrants. However, instead of listening to the grievances of border migrants and assuring redressal of the same, main objective of the visit was only to convey a message to the high command and opposition parties that BJP was also very much among the public. According to the sources, the RSS and BJP top brass have pulled up state BJP leaders and more particularly its ministers for allegedly being insensitive towards the plights of border migrants, who are facing worst ever shelling in their life. In their interview to print and electronic media, some border migrants alleged that neither administration nor the BJP ministers were listening to their grievances. These people alleged that the BJP ministers, who used to make tall claims of their safety and security before coming to power, had gone missing following escalation of tension on the border. Similar allegations were leveled by the opposition Congress and even National Conference leaders. Stung by these allegations, the RSS and BJP high command snubbed the party in Jammu and Kashmir and directed their ministers to visit border residents, sources said and added that direction for the same has irked the ministers who are not feeling comfortable among the public because of their long absence. |
