Women shot dead in Pulwama, School set ablaze in Anantnag | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 28: Anantnag, Oct 28: Militants on Friday late evening shot dead a lady in South Kashmir's Pulwama district while some others set ablaze a school in Anantnag. Police sources said, "At around 8:00pm gun men barged in to the home of the lady and shot at her." Sources said, "Injured Zainab was shifted to Sub-district Hospital Bijbehara where doctors declared her brought dead." "Slain lady was identified as Zainab urf Rubi (35), wife of Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Naina Batapora few kilometers away from Sangam Bijbehara, falling in the jurisdiction of Pulwama, police sources said, adding, "the incident has created panic in the area." "Initially we thought a gunfight started between security forces and militants but later came to know that an innocent lady has been shot dead," a villager told Early Times over phone. Meanwhile Police has confirmed the gruesome incident and added it has launched an operation to nab the killers. Meanwhile in another unfortunate incident some miscreants set ablaze a private school-Iqra English Medium School- at Naik Mohalla Budgund in Verinag. "The flames were seen at around 8:30 pm and the school building which was constructed mostly of timber got gutted completely," sources said. In Anantnag town, miscreants again made an attempt to set ablaze a building in New Market Mattan. The building house a J&K Bank business unit but fire fighters rushed and saved the building from major damage. |
