| Sharma pays tributes to martyrs of Qila Darhal | | | Early Times Report
Nowshera, Oct 28: Former MLC and JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Qila Darhal, Nowshera, who fought against Pakistan raiders during 1947-1048. A grand function is held every year on this day (28th October) to commemorate the civilian martyrs who laid down their lives to defend their country and repulsed the attack by the Pakistan raiders. A large number of civilian population besides Army officers, officials and prominent personalities pay tributes to these martyrs along with all those Army and security personnel, who laid down lives since 1947 till date in this sector or elsewhere hailing from this area. Sharma paid rich tributes to the martyrs and saluted their families for their sacrifices for the sake of nation and defeated the nefarious designs of the Pakistan. He said that honouring and remembering the martyrs, is the duty of nation and citizens and the state should extend all sorts of facilities to such areas and their families. Unfortunately, the area of "Shaheed Garh" - Qila Darhal remained neglected for a long time, for most of the facilities and it was his efforts to sanction a School at Shaheedgarh besides construction of big "Hall of Fame" in the memory of martyrs, out of his MLC-CD Funds. Besides on his persuasions, the Govt. sanctioned a Tehsil and Block HQ in Panchayat, which brought the area on the administrative map of the state. |
