Reasi, Feb 17: Even as the government claims speedy redressal of peoples' grievances and taking governance to their door steps, the people of Pouni are struggling hard to find officers in the Tehsildar's office.
The officers, according to locals, mostly remain absent as the higher authorities remain unmoved. A local said that he travelled miles and reached the office of Tehsildar on time to get an issue settled. "However, to my dismay, there was nobody to entertain my complaint. I saw empty chairs all around. My queries yielded no results," he said. Others has a similar story to tell. "Tehsildar's office is very important for us. We rush to this office for solving our problems. But for quite some time, the officers are not rturning up for unknown reasons, " he said. Taking strong note of the trend, the locals have demanded stern action against the erring officials. "They said that it is really a matter of concern as nothing moves in absence if officers," they lamented.
