| Deputation of JHS calls on Comm JMC | | | Early Times Report
JAmmu, Feb 22: A deputation of Jammu Heritage Society led by its President Bhuvneshwar Gandotra called on Municipal commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar ( IAS ) in his chambers today to discuss with him of beautification of Jammu City as envisaged by the society under the scheme of smart city and also declaring Mubarak Mandi as Trade Mark for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The president Bhuvneswar gandotra impressed upon the commissioner to take up the issue of trade mark in right earnest so that Mubarak Mandi is declared as Trade Mark for the state of Jammu and Kashmir as has been done by the Govt of India by declaring Taj Hotel Mumbai as trade mark for India. This shall add to list of soviners such as items of paper machie and handicrafts besides Chinar Leaf. The commissioner was informed that in a meeting with chief minister the issue stands represented and the same has been forwarded to The Secretary Tourism for the needful. In the opinion of the Society this shall and can also be used as an additional logo for smart city of Jammu. The commissioner listened to the issue and while appreciating the idea assured to take up the issue with concerned for the needful. Ex - President of the society Baldev Khullar gave a detailed presentation of beautification of Jammu city as envisaged by the society under the concept of smart city which includes shutter paintings in on design and color besides front fasard in one shape . of historical bazars of Jammu. The roads of historical bazars and rortaries be laid in cobble stone by giving them a Heritage Look. |
