Hyderabad based Ramskay to construct Galandar-Sumbal bypass road
Company infamous for missing deadlines

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 22: A Hyderabad based construction company is all set to undertake the construction of 42 Km long Galander-Sumbal Bye Pass Road despite missing multiple deadlines to complete the Srinagar- Banihal 4 Lane Express Road.
The project Srinagar- Banihal 4 Lane Express Road was assigned to the company in 2011 and the work was to be completed by 2014. The project which was allotted to Hyderabad-based Construction Company by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has missed four deadlines so far. An official of the Public Works Department (PWD) said that the physical progress of the project was 69.38 percent in September and was only 68 percent in June. It has missed multiple deadlines over the years.
On the Banihal-Ramban stretch, a new deadline of mid 2019 has been now set. The PWD official said that the work on the project is going on at snail's pace with nearly 4.3 percent completed so far. The delay in the completion has been caused hardships to the commuters. The concerned citizens foresee a huge setback to road connectivity if the 42 km project is awarded to the company.
The decision of awarding the project to the company has already raised a number of questions. People have accused the authorities of having a truck with the company. According to them, the company has been using influence to get vital projects in Kashmir. "They have not been able to construct a road from 2011.
The new assignment will also meet the same fate. What justice will they do with the new assignment. The locals are also talented and must be given a chance," they demanded.
